Susan Boyle Video on Britain's Got Talent
Well it has been an incredible few days for OVERNIGHT singing sensation Susan Boyle. Her fame is spreading far and wideand her fan base is growing at an awesome pace: her video views have already topped 32 million hits and that has only been less than a week.
Yesterday, a debut recording of her amazing talent emerged which is further testament to her powerful voice.
A Scottish newspaper discovered a charity CD she recorded in 1999 on which she sang the ballad Cry Me a River. Only 1000 copies of the Music for the Millennium CD were pressed.
An earlier appearance on the talent-spotting TV show My Kind of People which catapulted singers like Charlotte Church to stardom left her unnoticed.
"I did My Kind of People for fun," she says. "I also sang locally, but things had quietened down."
Boyle decided to audition for Britain's Got Talent after taking some time away from singing to care for her mother, who died in 2007, aged 91. Paul Potts, the mobile-phone salesman who won the first series of Britain's Got Talent and went on to become a global opera star, was her inspiration.
Potts took five months to hit 30 million views on YouTube, and he has been described as Britain's most successful reality star. Boyle took just five days to match him.
